Help for Academic Summary

The Academic Summary application provides Penn State students with a quick overview of some of their key academic records. Many students are unsure of such basic information as their cumulative grade-point average, their semester standing, the number of credits they have earned, the number of credits they are permitted to late drop and how many they have already used, and their adviser's knowledge of their curricular goals. Knowing these pieces of information can be critical to a student's educational planning efforts.

In addition, the Academic Summary application provides students a chance to verify the accuracy of some of their academic records. Incorrect information that appears in a student's file can have adverse consequences on student aid, registration, declaration of major, and other academic concerns. Often, potential problems can be averted by correcting a record before it has a negative impact on a student's plans. Students have a right and a responsibility to check the accuracy of their institutional records.
